Celebrating a wedding outdoors means that we can enjoy the outdoors much more, that our guests feel more space or that everything looks like a fairy tale, but it also means that we can end up suffering the inclement weather and that is why it is not superfluous to do everything with the “protection” of a tent.
When talking about a tent, we all think of models like the ones we can see at any party or outdoor event, but the truth is that for weddings we can find different styles and even sizes. In A1 Party Rentals we have a series of recommendations for your choice.
Choose the tent depending on the season or the time of the wedding:
Knowing that we have many types of tents to choose from, it is essential to know which tent models are more suitable for a summer wedding, or for a spring or even fall wedding. Also if the wedding will be held early in the morning, at noon or in the afternoon. Imagine for example that your wedding is to be held at 12 o’clock in July, and you have chosen a transparent tent.
You will probably end up spending more heat than necessary and the sun will be a nuisance. If you are getting married in a month when bad weather can appear, it is better to opt for a closed tent so that we can prevent the guests from getting wet. Also, this type of tent (closed) can be a good idea for a summer wedding because we can take advantage of the place’ air conditioning.
If you choose a closed tent you will also need to choose walls and windows so that we can get natural light and save on lighting.
Types of tables
The most common in weddings is that the banquet tables are round, with a diameter of 1.8 meters and usually seat 10 people. In this case, from Aracarpas we usually recommend to calculate the approximate surface of 1.5 m2 per guest taking into account to leave a passage for waiters of 0.5 meters between tables. For example, if a wedding will be attended by 200 guests, we would have to multiply these by 1.5: 200 x 1.5 = 300. In this case, we would need a tent of approximately 300 m2.
What are the Catering needs?
In case it is the bride and groom who are making the calculations to rent a tent to celebrate the wedding in a farm or in a private land, think that in addition to the tables, the caterer will also need a space to do their work. The best thing to do, so that they can work in conditions and offer their service in an optimal way, is to ask them about their space needs, depending on the contracted services.
How do I fit the dance area? This will depend on how you are designing the wedding. You can choose to have an exclusive space to celebrate the dance, with which, the tent will have to be larger, or simply, you can choose to set aside the tables to gain space once the banquet is over.
Flooring for the tents:
If you are having an outdoor wedding, and you are putting up a tent you will also need to know what the ground is like so that everyone is comfortable and we don’t go stumbling around. Normally the tent supplier usually has flooring for each model.
Lighting for the tents:
Lighting is also varied, and it is important to know how to choose the right one. It is always best to talk to the wedding planner or the person from whom we buy or rent the tent, so that we can know how much weight it can support and whether or not we can hang lamps, lights or limit ourselves to candles.
